The Progressive Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) is looking for a dedicated professional to join our operations team. Duties include but are not limited to: medicating animals, answering out phone-lines, cleaning all animal housing, providing food, care and socialization for the animals, administration of vaccines and treatments, returning stray animals to owners, and assisting potential adopters in selecting new animals. In addition, adoption advisors provide supervision and feedback to volunteers during daily operations.
Candidates must be able to lift a minimum of forty pounds, and preference may be given to those with previous shelter experience. Ideal candidates with have a professional demeanor, ability to provide excellent customer service, strong animal handling skills and the ability to work well under pressure. Additional schooling and/or experience in the animal care profession are highly desirable. Must be a high school graduate or equivalent, and able to read, write and speak clearly in English. Must have or be willing to obtain a valid WA State driver’s license.
